Bio
Where to begin? I was christened Abigail Gerlinde Alexander but since I became a Muslim I've been known as Ayesha Akilah. I was born into a German-Afrikaner family on November 21st 1987 in Cape Town in what was then the Cape Province, South Africa. I was joined two years later by my sister Hennah who is now called Hakeema. My parents are called Clifford and Leesa but their Muslim names are Abdul-Haqq and Noor. I have a little brother called Geronimo but his Muslim name is Ahmed. I have five children who I had between the ages of 12 and 18; Isma is 7, Hafsa is nearly 3, Suhaib is 17 months and my twins are 4 months. I have been married twice between the ages of 15 and 19 and have lived in Kuwait, UK, South Africa, Singapore, Indonesia and for two months in Egypt. I converted to Islam when I was 14 and haven't looked back since.
